In the home

Rooms our candles live in.

Designers, architects, and customers send us photographs of the rooms where our glasses end up. We ask permission, credit everyone, and never move the furniture, except once, and only a little.

Placement

Where to put a candle.

A good candle in the wrong spot is a very expensive way to scent a hallway. Here is where we put ours, after twelve years of trying most of the alternatives.

Living room
Near a bookshelf, not under one. Shelves are for books, and books have been through enough.
Kitchen
Away from the range hood, which will pull the scent straight outside and take credit for it.
Bedroom
On the nightstand, lit while you read. Put it out before you sleep. We say this to every customer and mean it each time.
Bath
Light it ten minutes before you run the water. The steam does half the work.
Dining room
Scented glasses on the sideboard, unscented votives on the table. Dinner should be the loudest thing in the room.
Entryway
A short burn an hour before guests arrive, then out. The best entrances are the ones people can’t quite explain.

For designers & stylists

The trade program.

Interior designers, stylists, architects, and hospitality buyers can open a trade account for wholesale pricing, styling loans for photography, and early access to seasonal pours. We lend glasses for shoots, and we would like them back with the wick still trimmed.

Ask at the counter for an application, or write to the workshop on letterhead.

Styling loans
Up to twelve glasses, one week
Trade pricing
From twelve glasses per order
Hospitality
Hotels and restaurants, poured to order
Lead time
One to two weeks, bench permitting
