What we collect

At the counter: your name and telephone number if you hold a glass, and your mailing address if you ask for our seasonal letters. These are written in a paper ledger kept behind the register.

On this website: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time) kept for up to thirty days to keep the site running and secure. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

For trade accounts: business name, contact details, and order history, which we need in order to fill trade orders.

How we use it

To set aside the glass you asked for, to send the letters you asked for, to fill trade orders, and to answer you when you write to us. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we never have. Martin has looked into what it would be worth and has asked us to say it was not tempting.

Who we share it with

Our shipping carriers receive the address on a package. Our payment processor handles card payments at the counter. Our accountant sees our books. Nobody else sees anything.

Your choices

You may ask to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you, and California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Ask at the counter, call (415) 555-0148, or write to us at 628 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133. We will respond within thirty days, usually much sooner, and by hand.

Children

This website is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Candles are not toys.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page and post a notice at the counter beside the snuffers.
