Candle arrived safe, no complaint about the candle. But the shredded packing paper is clearly old invoices. I can read “net 30” on one strip and “14 cases of” on another. Is this a privacy issue?

Hi Desmond, this is Lise. I pack every box. Thank you for telling me, and I’m sorry for the surprise.

Our packing paper is the shop’s own paper waste, shredded here. Those strips are Hale & Wick’s invoices for wax and glass from 2019, cross-cut to 4 mm. You received about a fortieth of one. No one’s personal information is in it. It is us buying soy wax.

“14 cases of” is soy flakes. I’m sure, because I remember the delivery. It was a Tuesday.

That’s reassuring, thank you. I’ve reassembled about half of it. It’s oddly satisfying.

Please don’t. I mean that kindly. The other half went to a customer in Fresno.

I would like to formally confirm that this invoice was paid in full. In 2019. Net 30. On day 29.

I’m going to ask that nobody reunite the invoice. It isn’t a secret. It’s just that I worked very hard on it.

It’s complete. Fourteen cases of soy flakes, $1,186.40, from a supplier in Iowa. Paid on day 29. I’ve framed it.

Desmond, Dan, we would love a photograph of the frame for the counter. Lise has asked us to note that she is fine.

We do, a little! Someone returned a fish bowl with their empties in 2020. It isn’t one of our glasses. It was very clean. We kept it. It’s on the shelf behind the register, and it’s doing well.

Posting accounts are issued in person at the counter at 628 Vallejo Street, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 6, on a laminated card with your username written in pencil. Bring a username in mind, or Teodora will suggest one. She is right about eighty percent of the time.

Nothing else recent here. It’s been a quiet board, which we take as a good sign.
