I have done the research. Mission Fig is poured at 628 Vallejo Street. That is Russian Hill. The Mission is 2.4 miles away.
Has this candle EVER been to the Mission? I am asking a simple question. Wake up people.

Thank you for raising this. On the distance, you are close: it is 2.3 miles by my odometer. I drove it this morning to confirm.
The name refers to the Mission fig, a variety of fig named for the California missions. To be thorough, the figs we used to develop the scent came from a tree in Teodora’s aunt’s yard in Bernal Heights, which is adjacent to the Mission but, we concede, not in it.
We admit it. To address this fully, this morning I drove a case of forty Mission Figs to Valencia Street, and we stood on the corner with them for twenty minutes.
They have now been to the Mission. Photographs are at the counter.
That’s fair! Nobody at the shop is from the Mission except Lise, who grew up on 24th Street. Lise has offered to personally pack every Mission Fig from now on.
We’re really glad you care this much about provenance. Honestly, it’s the whole thing we do.
Happy to. 112 packed so far this week. All of them know where I’m from.
There is not. There is violet leaf, a rain accord, and driftwood. We would like to get ahead of the rest:
Welcome to the family. It ships today. Lise packed it, even though it isn’t a fig, because she wanted to.
Every couple of years someone discovers the names. It’s always a good week.
Posting accounts are issued in person at the counter at 628 Vallejo Street, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 6, on a laminated card with your username written in pencil. Bring a username in mind, or Teodora will suggest one. She is right about eighty percent of the time.
